On 18th November 2012 some of the CORD sponsorship children received bicycles from Mr Yogi Thembirajah; who came from Canada to monitored the progress of the sponsor children accompanied by CORD Director Mrs A.Gowrie Mahenthiran.
These children come from very poor families in interior villages in the North that do not have any transport facilities from their village to the main road. Although these children travel over 3 to 4 kilometers daily from home to school and back, they still manage to maintain good grades in school. we believe that these bicycles will help these children further and motivated them to study harder.
