Candle making training was held on 27th June 2013 at the CORD Sri Lanka, Jaffna Office, this was a full day training program to empower women affected by the war to be self-sustainable and pursue manufacturing candle as an income generating activity. 15 participants attended this training, the training was conducted by MR.Pakeerathan.
The participants of this training were taught to make different designs and types of candles that had high retail value, this training also targeted the upcoming Nallur Festival were participants from this training could sell these candles at the festival.
Six self help group members came forward to make this product as a income generating activity through the Value Chain Association system.
