Hand wash production training was held on 6th June 2013 at the CORD Sri Lanka, Jaffna Office, this was a full day training program to empower women affected by the war to be self-sustainable and pursue manufacturing hand wash as a income generating activity. 20 participants attended this training and  MR.Pakeerathan conducted this training program. To understand and create awareness about the principles of safe hand washing, the Sri Lanka government made reformations  that all hotels, restaurants, school & cafes in the North of the island should introduce a hand wash system for its eminent hygienic purposes. Thus CORD Sri Lanka saw this as an excellent opportunity and innovative method to create a stable source of income to these women.

Interview

“This training was very use full, earlier I thought hand was a very difficult product to make but it is very easy. If we start to do this product we can get reasonable income and I like to do this work.” Miss. Jeyamathy, member of Self Help Group.
