2nd to 6th December- English Skills development training workshops for primary and secondary school children in the North.

CORD Sri Lanka held English skills Development training workshops from 2nd till the 5th of December for Primary and Secondary school students in the Northern province of the island. Expert trainers from Malaysia; Mr Wijen Randhawa and Mrs Mathy Randhawa along with Ms Emma Cook from Australia  conducted these workshops. Their main objectives were to motivate students to learn English, to improve and bring to light their leadership and communication skills and on how to bring out their core potential during exams.

Students were thought how to overcome fear, understand the importance of taking initaitive, motivate them to not give up in any situation and make them understand the importance of working as a team in certain situations. On 2nd December 100 primary and 100 secondary school children from 05 schools of Kilinochchi District gathered at Kanakapuram Maha Vidayalayam. Two sessions were conducted for primary and secondary students. On 3rd December   80 children from Jaffna Hindu primary and 100 secondary children from Jaffna Vembady Girls High Secondary school were present, on 4th December 100 students from Jaffna Hindu Ladies College, and on 6th December students from Ramanathan girls college participated .

Students and teachers were delighted and requested CORD to organize similar training sessions and workshops in the future. As this is the time for us to educate and motivate our future generation to take on the world.
