On 9th, 10th and 11th November, 117 CORD sponsored children from Killinochi, Kondavil, Kokuvil and Meesalai received Deepavali dresses from CORD Jaffna. Children are elated to received new dresses and celebrated Deepavali with their friends, families, neighbors and loved ones.

Kuga from Meesalai (Sponsor child) thought she couldn’t meet her friends on Deepavali day as her friends would all have new dresses and not her. Kuga’s mother is a single parent and they live a very difficult life hence couldn’t afford new cloths, which is mostly why Kuga was so happy and grateful to CORD Sri Lanka for giving her to opportunity to celebrate Deepavali like all others.
