Importance of Personal Hygiene for women in Killinochchi: Trainers of Trainees program

CORD Sri Lanka conducted a training for 31 SHG women in Tharmapuram School in the Killinochchi District on 5th April 2014 from 10.00 am to 1.30 pm. Master trainer Mr. Rajakanthan conducted the class, the following areas were covered:

1. Personal Hygiene: all vegetables and fruits need to be cleans well such as first they need to be rinsed with water afterwards with salty water, and the right way to preserve food was taught.

2. Importance of Hand Wash – More than 700 Bacteria, fungal, and germs are in our bare hands thus it is important to keep our hand clean. These SHG women were taught on now to prevent diseases by simply staying clean.

3. A Power Point presentation was done to help them better understand.

4. Kamaleswary (CORD Field Officer) emphasized on the use of hand wash.
